Fair, Balanced and Very Very Real: We say Goodbye to Alan Colmes
February 24, 2017
As Sean Hannity's "Liberal Half" Hannity and Colmes were the Fox News version of Carville and Matalin. In an on air segment announcing Colmes' death Thursday, Sean Hannity described Colmes as one of the "nicest, kindest and most generous people", one of the many tributes that followed from Colmes' news media colleagues who regard him as humble and kind in a world which political debate has increasingly coarsened.
While Colmes was married (in real life) to the lovely Jocelyn Crowley, he also leaves behind on-air husband Sean Hannity, throngs of pundits, politicians, colleagues and fans all over the world.
The roots of the word politics can be broken down into "polo", which means many, and "tics", which are blood sucking insects. Dealing with these types has been Alan's life work and he elevated the political discourse with a civility and flair that will be noticeably absent from the narrative.
